Famous Quotes

"We know that teachers are the key to good child care - and as long as teachers are undervalued, American children, too, will keep getting less than they deserve"

~ Marcy Whitebook

“These truths about the early care and education workforce are not breaking news. We have known for two decades, since the release of the National Child Care Staffing Study in 1989, that limited education, lack of specialized early childhood training and poor compensation are inextricably linked to the poor to mediocre quality common to the majority of early care and education services across the nation. We have known, almost for that long, that the education level and pay of the workforce play a critical role in whether services can improve.”

~ Marcy Whitebook

Personal Childhood Web

The First person in my personal childhood web that I want to talk about is my mom Mrs. Rose Long. She is such a wonderful woman. She raised me all by herself, and I think she has done a wondrful  job. My mother has very little education, but she always pushed me to do my very best and to go as far as I could education. She is my biggest supporter and I appreciate that.

The second person I would like to recognize is my husband Mr. Edward. He has been such a great help in my educational process. He has gone above and beyond for me. He has taken on so much so that I can go to school and better myself. Even though it's for the family I greatly appreciate him. He makes sure I go to class and complete all assignments on time.

The third person is my best friend Ms. Terrika Cannon. She has always been an education advocate in my life. Her mother has been a principal for 40 years and the wisdom she instilled in her, she shared with me. She is the reason I decided to come to Walden University for my Masters Degree. She has always stood by me and been very positive in my educational process.

The fourth person is my cousin that was raised as my brother Mr. Derek Spann. He has always been very good to me. He is one of the few people I know who tells you the truth wheteher you wanna hear it or not. He does not believe in I CAN"T! He has always given me that extra push to be all that I can be. He does not have a lot of education, but says I have motivated him to go back to school and do what he needs to do to better himself.

The fifth person is Ms. Erma Stephens. She is my co-worker and dear friend. She went back to school to get her Masters and really had a lot of influence on me continuing mine also. She always says to me have you done your assignments for the week. She really keeps me on my toes. She is always there to help when I'm confused. I really appreciate her being in my life throughout this educational journey.

How does Early Childhood Education help?

Early Childhood education helps children gain confidence in their ability to learn. I helps children to focus and use their brains in ways they have never done before. Children lean the most i the earlier years of their lives and this opens a door for success. I think all children should experience some type of early childhood education.
