Final Blog : When I Think of Research

I would like to start off by saying that I have really enjoyed interacting with each and one of you. I have learned so much from you all. I have learned so much about research. I had a general idea about research, but I have great insight on things that I didn't even know was relevant. My idea about research and how to conduct it has changed tremendously. I now know how to properly conduct a research project . I know the rules and take pride in doing it the right way. Before I kind of half way did things not even taking consideration of confidentiality and quality of the project. I have learned that a properly prepared and planned project will be very effective. Once you have a plan, all the other parts of the project will just fall together. This course has taught me to look beyond the exterrior of things. I was already aware that things aren't always what they appear, but it gets deeper. This class has been amazing. I especially enjoyed learning new words and what they mean as it relates to early childhood education.

  1. You are right about learning new vocabulary. I gave my students a vocabulary assignment the other day and they asked why I don't work on vocabulary. I sat down with our book and showed them the vocabulary that I was working with. They quickly agreed their assignment was easier than mine. I told them that we are always learning vocabulary regardless of our age. I look forward to working with you in future coures.

  2. Katrina,

I am so glad we learned the deeper perspective in what goes into research but, I am so glad it is the end. THis class has taught me alot but the details and the information of what goes into the process was overwhelming at times. I won't say the research I conducted in my past was unprofessional in the fact that it was a learning experience but I feel now after taking EDU 6163 I could write a dissertation. Good Luck with future endeavors!

  3. Katrina, You are so right about confidentiality, I never thought about it before this course. Learning about the proper way to conduct a valid research study is more important than I knew. I enjoyed reading your post throughout the course. Hope to read more. Lisa
